What do the following words have in common?
Stupid, absurd, silly, insane, reckless, ignorant, rash,
wicked
You’re right if you said that they are some of the English
adjectives which are used to try to capture what the original Greek words
“fool”, “foolish”, and “foolishness” meant. Many of us are very aware that the Bible has a lot to say
about the wise person and the fool, but sometimes with familiarity there is vagueness.
Do any of the words above describe some
of our thoughts, attitudes, actions or words?
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then
peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without
partiality and without hypocrisy.
James
3:17
